James Fanoele

Co-Founder and Chief Operations Officer

My name is James Fanoele, and service, family, and community have always been at the center of who I am.

I am a retired United States Air Force veteran whose life has been shaped by discipline, loyalty, resilience, and the mindset that the mission always comes first. Military service taught me accountability, leadership, and the importance of standing beside the people you care about, lessons that continue to guide me long after leaving active duty.

Originally from Kansas and now living in Missouri with my wife and two children, family has always remained my foundation. Like many veterans, transitioning out of military service came with challenges, including learning how to balance structure, purpose, career, and family life in an entirely new environment.

Throughout that transition, I stayed focused on building a life centered around service, hard work, and meaningful experiences. I continued working in government service while also investing time into the things that have always grounded me: family, motorcycles, fishing, diving, and the outdoors. I have never believed in sitting still for long, and I have always believed that growth comes from challenge, connection, and shared experiences.

Scuba diving became one of those outlets.

The underwater environment creates a unique sense of focus and calm that is difficult to explain unless you have experienced it yourself. Diving builds confidence, accountability, teamwork, and trust, qualities that naturally connect many veterans and first responders. More importantly, it creates opportunities for people to reconnect with themselves and with others.

That belief is one of the reasons I became involved with 4VALOR.

4VALOR represents something bigger than recreation alone. It is about helping veterans and families rediscover purpose, community, and belonging after service. It is about creating environments where people can support one another, challenge themselves, and realize they are not navigating life alone.

As Chief Operating Officer of 4VALOR, I help support organizational operations, program planning, and community engagement efforts that keep our mission moving forward. I believe strongly in building a culture rooted in accountability, trust, and genuine connection.

Veterans understand the value of serving beside others. At 4VALOR, we are working to build that same sense of connection and purpose beyond the military.

I am proud to be part of that mission.
